چکیده

It was observed that acetoacetic acid when coupled with 4-nitrobenzenediazonium salt in a buffered carbonate solution yielded a strong green color upon further alkalization. This reaction was given by relatively few of the biochemical compounds that have been tested, and the procedure has been developed so that, as applied to blood filtrates, it is believed t,o afford a. satisfactory measure of acetoacetic acid cont, ent.

In a study of the pathogenesis of bovine ketosis it was felt desirable to be able to follow in some detail the changes in. all three ketone bodies (acetone, acetoacetic acid and ,-hydroxybutyric acid) which have been shown by various workers to occur in excessive quantities in blood, milk and urine during the course of that disorder. Hitherto, little or no attempt hasbeenmade at complete differ...

The Determination of Acetone and Acetoacetic Acid in Blood by the Bisulfite-binding Method and Its Relation to Pyruvic Acid

Clift and Cook (1) have described a method for the determination of carbonyl compounds in blood as bisulfite-binding substances. Devised primarily for rapid determination of pyruvic acid, the procedure as described made possible the determination of acetoacetic acid to the extent of about 87 per cent, but acetonc could not be measured because of the instability of the addition product. Sufficie...

A colorimetric method for the estimation of acetoacetate.

The coupling of aromatic diazo compounds with compounds containing a reactive methylene group to form 'mixed' azo compounds (tautomeric with hydrazones) was recognized as a general reaction following Meyer's (1877) synthesis of phenylazoacetoacetic ester from benzenediazohydroxide and ethyl acetoacetate. Japp & Klingemann (1888) found that when equimolar amounts of acetoacetic acid and benzened...

New Enzymatic Colorimetric Method for the Quantitative Determination of Phenylalanine in Dry-Blood Spots

Phenylketonuria (PKU) is an autosomal recessive disorder, which is characterized by severe mental retardation, microcephaly and seizures. The symptoms of this disease can be prevented if detected soon after birth. Therefore, blood Phenylalanine (Phe) measurement is essential for the early diagnosis, treatment and dietary monitoring of PKU patients. The goal of this research was to introduce a r...

Transfusion associated graft versus host disease(GVHD) is a serious clinical complication that occurs in some cases after blood and blood products transfusion. The mortality ratio of this disorder is very high and in over 90% of cases lead to patients’ death. The procedure routinely used to inhibit GVHD is inactivation of donor blood lymphocytes and prevention of their proliferation in recipien...
